RAICHO SS: the technical short-sleeved shirt for hot days in the mountains
Some outings leave your T-shirt sticking to your back after the first hour, while your jacket stays at the bottom of your pack. That’s exactly where the RAICHO SS comes into its own: a short-sleeved shirt designed for hiking, climbing, and valley days when the temperature rises.
A lightweight fabric that moves with you
Its 130 g/m² ECONYL recycled polyamide fabric is lightweight and stretchy: it moves with your shoulder as you reach for a hold, won’t get in the way when carrying a pack, and blocks the wind when a cool breeze picks up on the ridge. At just 170 g, you’ll barely notice you’re wearing it.
Practical details for your outings
Seven buttons let you gradually open the collar on the climb, then fasten it again when you stop for a break. Both chest pockets, one with an embroidered logo, are accessible even with a pack on and hold a map, a folded guidebook, or your phone on the approach.

130 g/m² recycled polyamide fabric: the lightweight feel that transforms a hot day
On an approach in blazing sunshine, you feel every gram of fabric. At 130 grams per square meter, the RAICHO SS fabric is exceptionally lightweight: dense enough to block the wind and protect you from the sun, yet light enough to keep heat from getting trapped under your pack. On the scale, the whole shirt weighs 170 grams, barely more than a classic T-shirt, with the added benefit of a collar and buttons for ventilation. The fabric is made from ECONYL regenerated polyamide yarn, produced from nylon waste collected in Europe, including fishing nets and textile scraps. It’s recycled, but above all, it’s durable: polyamide withstands rubbing against your pack and the rock better than most lightweight fibers.
Stretch and 7 buttons: a short-sleeved shirt that moves with your raised arms
A technical shirt proves itself when you raise your arms. This one incorporates elastane yarn into the weave, giving the fabric genuine stretch: your shoulder moves forward as you take a climbing step, your arm reaches for a high hold, and the fabric falls back into place without creasing or pulling at the seams. The seven front buttons offer a second kind of adjustment, this time for temperature. Open the collar and the top two buttons on the way up to let out heat; button everything up when the wind picks up on the ridge. The two high-set chest pockets remain accessible with your pack’s waist belt fastened, keeping a topo or sunglasses close at hand.
RAICHO SS, the breathable base layer in the Lagoped system
Did you know? The rock ptarmigan, our totem animal, changes its plumage with the seasons: white in winter to blend into the snow, it fluffs up its feathers to retain heat when the cold sets in, then sheds them as soon as the mountains warm up. It never wears more than it needs.
The RAICHO SS plays exactly this role of adjusting to warm weather. It sits next to the skin as the first layer, managing the moisture produced during exertion. Its lightweight 130 g/m² fabric and adjustable collar let you regulate your temperature without adding anything. As soon as the temperature drops, it serves as the base for a second insulating layer, such as a fleece or lightweight puffer jacket, followed by a third waterproof layer if rain sets in.

Regular-fit cut RAICHO SS: room to move without looking baggy
The RAICHO SS has a straight cut, neither tight nor loose. This men's version lets air circulate between the fabric and the skin, which matters when walking in the blazing sun, while still looking neat once you're back in the valley, on a terrace, or at the campsite bar.
A shirt that moves with you
The stretch fabric makes up for the freedom of movement a straight cut might compromise: you can raise your arms without the shirt hem riding up, something you quickly notice on a slab or when reaching into a crack. The short sleeves leave your elbows completely uncovered.
How to wear it
Wear it next to the skin in hot weather, or open over a technical T-shirt when the day starts out cool. The seven buttons let you adjust ventilation throughout your outing.
Coupe Regular
